Super J Party: The Action

Part One: The Decorations

When the kids arrived, they transformed into their super hero costumes...
personalized t-shirts, capes, and masks

Each with their own initial on the back

We had a big day of activities ahead of us...

Fine Motor Skill Test: Coloring Wall

Strength Test: Pinata

Speed Test: Egg Races

We used hollow eggs filled with confetti, the kids had fun cracking them over their heads after the race

Agility Test: Bouncy House

A great time was had by all!

{Inspiration} in a Picture

Where does my inspiration come from? Snap asked readers to share a picture that inspires them.  I can find inspiration in the simplest of places. I love the way light introduces itself in this picture, the color and shapes, the transparency of the umbrella against the metal spokes.

This picture illustrates what I am possible of doing and inspires me to do greater things in the future.

Super J Pinata, Attempt #2

I love to show you projects.
I also love to show you my failed attempts,
so you can see how badly some of them go.

First picture, Super J's finished pinata

Thank goodness, this tutorial surfaced on FB yesterday.
My arms were covered in flour paste and my pinata looked like this,
it's been low 70s here and this baby is not drying.
Don't ask how I was going to create this balloon shape into a Super J pinata, I was winging it.

Second picture, failed attempt

Thank you The Sweetest Occasion, I owe you one.

I think we have ourselves a telephone booth for the party!
Bugger J needs somewhere to change into Super J, right?
Fingers crossed that it makes it till party day.
It's been played with hard.

How To Transform Your Furniture {Without Paint}

Did you see my post on how Jessica from Party Box Design  transformed an old thrift store buffet not once, but twice for two very different parties? Both looks were fabulous and so economical!

Today, I want to show you how I transform my buffet for parties the ultra easy, fast way. I usually start at the thrift store, but in this case we actually already has this buffet. It never fit our style and I had been debating what to do with it.

Painted it "Marshmallow", okay yeeees... partly because of the name

Used spray glue to adhere this shower curtain backdrop, now I love it!

It looks like this on non-party months!

For parties I line the inside of the buffet with card stock that matches my party theme

Currently the buffet is going through another transformation with black wrapping paper
for Bugger J's 5th birthday, here is one {super} sneak peek

See how a paper backdrop can really change the whole vibe of the buffet?!!! Easy peasy!

Invite Furniture to the Party {Party Box Design}

I love incorporating furniture into my party decor. Finding a used piece of furniture is an affordable way to add some extra special touches to a party. Jessica of Party Box Design bought an old buffet and transformed it for her Halloween party. When I saw her buffet transformed again for her daughters Preppy Pink Crab Party, I knew I had to share the pictures with you!

This is the BEFORE pictures of her thrift find

It definitely needed some love...

And the AFTER!!!
Spooky Chic Bar for her Halloween Party

And...transformed again, can you believe this is the SAME buffet?
Brilliant!

Here's the sweet invitation Jessica created for her daughter's party (and offers in her shop)
doesn't the buffet match the invitation perfectly?

See how one piece of furniture can transform a party space?  Furniture can become a major part of your party decor! Thank you Jessica for letting me share your party pictures. Jessica can be found on Facebook, her blog, and party invitation store called Party Box Design. She has tons of adorable invitations & party accessories for you to check out.
