Cupcakes and Cutlery Lockheart Inspiration Board Challenge!

Cupcakes and Cutlery and Lockheart have teamed up to create a very fun challenge. Create an event Inspiration Board based on this beautiful Caprice Lockheart purse.

So here is my vision for a party inspired by the Caprice!

But then in the middle of the night, I realized I needed more Moroccan!  Ahhh...
but alas, it was too late to make changes. So here is the board I couldn't use...

Which one do you like better?

I even created an inspiration board for the outfit I would wear WITH
the Caprice purse to this fabulous party!

The judges will narrow the entries to 5 top choices. The grand prize winner will be announced Tuesday, November 9, 2010 and will be sent their very own 'Caprice,' which retails for approximately $465!

There are also MORE chances to win prizes by checking back on Monday, November 8th and commenting on the top inspiration boards. Visit here for more details and rules.

Party Starter Pam's Create My Party Challenge!

Cupcake and Cocktail Birthday Party Inspiration Board

It's Pam's Birthday from Party Starters and she wants US to create HER fabulous Cupcakes and Cocktails Party!  I wanted to create a romantic, elegant, modern, and chic party for Pam. Here are a few ideas if I was designing her birthday party...

Colors: Cream, gray, and leafy green. I would use gray and cream as the main colors and leafy green as an accent color to be highlighted in the flowers (love the use of kale here and the leaf wrapped vase), green ribbons on the backs of chairs, and gorgeous Emma Leaf cupcake wrappers.

Damask (a must for Pam!): found throughout the party in gray/cream napkins, the invitation, and menus.

Decor: Gray and cream poms floating down over the main table. Sheet music inspired circle garlands hanging behind the bar. This cream colored crocheted tablecloth from Anthropologie would be beautiful!. Sheet music wrapped votives lining the tables, bar area, and cupcake station for a romantic, soft look.

Invitation: Something like this gray damask invitation from Jean M. I would love to see the name of the party "Cupcakes and Cocktails"  highlighted in sage green. I would use this design to create menus and party favor boxes.

The cupcake station would feature vanilla almond, dark chocolate with raspberry filling, and triple chocolate brownie cupcakes. Icings would be kept simple: butter cream, chocolate, and cream cheese. The toppings would include caramel, dark chocolate sprinkles, silver crystal sprinkles, nuts, and dark and white chocolate shavings. A framed menu (in gray damask coordinating with the invitation) would be on the table displaying the dessert options. The cupcake wrappers would be Emma Leaf Cupcake Wrappers, simple yet would bring in some color and texture. Other desserts on the table would include frosted sugar cookies, chocolate dipped oreos, and homemade marshmallow squares.

Cocktails: Three signature drinks would be offered, A "Trienta y Ocho Mojito", Lime Cosmopoli-Pam, and a Chocolate Pam-tini. I would also offer an assortment of wines and beers that compliment the desserts so that there are a few less sweet drink options.  Again, the bar would have a gray damask framed menu displaying the drink choices.

Favors: Cream boxes filled with a cupcake mix for guests to take home. The box would have a sage ribbon and the gray damask "Thank you" label on the top.

If there are comfortable couches or big chairs for guests, I thought gray ruffled pillows would be the perfect finishing touch.

So that's your party, hope you like it! Happy Birthday Pam!

Love, Jenny

Milk Gallon Ghosts

Our next free and kid-friendly project was making ghost lights. The kids created faces on milk containers using sharpie markers (yes, sharpie markers make me a little nervous in the hands of a 2 year old-- but they did great!).  I cut 2 holes on each side and strung icicle lights through each.

I first saw the idea of Spirit jugs on Eighteen 25 where they lined the spirit jugs up on the ground. But I decided to string mine from the front porch. Maybe I'll do some more and line the walk ways for our trick or treaters....

This little face on the far left is my favorite by J Bugger.

Trick or Treat Mustache Crayons

J Buggers's preschool does not allow candy, so I had to think fast for a non-candy alternative to my chocolate mustache lolly pop idea. So, we did MUSTACHE CRAYONS instead. They were super easy to make and adorable!

I used these free DIY printables Hallween gift tags from Hello, Good Gravy!

We also made Martha Stewart inspired pumpkins filled with spider rings and tootsie rolls.
