Red, White, & Blue Pinterest

Happy Memorial Day everyone, have you noticed my new look? I won a blog header from Ruffled Sunshine and Life Made Lovely made this adorable new header for me. I'm still getting used to it. Change is good right?

Do you Pinterest?  Pinterest is a website that acts as a virtual pinboard. You can collect pictures of things you love and categorize them into boards. It's fun to create board and also follow others to see what they are "pinning". Warning, it's extremely addictive and FULL of amazing ideas.

My new board is red, white, & blue, thought I would share a sneak peek of it today (full board can be found here).

You can see or follow all my boards here

If anyone is interested in joining Pinterest and needs an invitation, let me know. Yes, it is actually by invitation or wait list at this point. Or if you already use Pinterest, let me know so I can start following your boards!

Father's Day Banner & Giveaway

When this idea popped in my head, I searched all over and could not find any Father's Day printables matching my theme. Christina from Pluff Mud Studio came to the rescue, not only did she have a golf party collection, but she could also create a new Father's Day collection with it. Hip Hip Hooray, serious happy dancing was going on in my house!

I was so excited about the Father's Day Banner and circles that I got a little carried away. I intended to make just a banner, then I added a few desserts, then some drinks to create a  "19 hole" as my hubby calls it... suddenly I had a fun set up for a Father's Day brunch or dessert table.

Father's Day Banner

Banner strung together with golf tees

I dipped a frosted cupcake in brown sugar, added a golf tee & donut hole

Teacher Appreciation Gift: Alphabet Flower Bouquet

{Don't Forget the Big Bubble Wands Giveaway ends Thursday, enter here} ------------------------------------>

It all began with a picture. I loved the idea and knew it was the perfect gift for my son's teachers. This is the tale of the not so easy way to get this teacher appreciation gift done...

Sunday 7:30pm
Hubby buys the last 4 packs of magnet letters at our dollar store (big favor to ask since the last time I requested he run to a dollar type store it was robbed and he couldn't leave until the police came, not my fault)

9:30 am: The search for flowers.  First flower shop has no flowers, deer and quite possibly a jackalope hanging on the wall. As a Boston native who has lived in Pa for 15 years now, I still have those "wow I can't believe how country this is" moments.

9:45 am: Second shop is not much better, but they have flowers. Little Bugger melts down because it is raining and he wants his own flowers (not sure the correlation, but it caused many tears).

10:15 am: Bust out the spray paint because the flowers don't really match the letters. Still raining so on the front porch.

11:05 am: Add cup inside vase

11:07 am: Fill outer rim with with semi-dry alphabet letters

View from top of jar

11:10 am: Add flowers and tag, grab quick lunch, run to school for pick up.

11:30 am: In the school parking lot cleaning jelly off Little Bugger's hands, shorts, car seat, and teacher's card. Note, never let your kids eat pb & j in the car, even if you are running late.

11:40 am: Hand teacher her gift like it was a super easy, relaxing morning. Head home and blog about it : )

{Giveaway} Big Bubble Wands

Big bubble wands are soft and flexible. They come in four different shapes that create their own unique bubble patterns. The wands are so easy to use, even your littlest bubble fan can do it. Just dip the wand and wave. You will be amazed at the size of your bubbles!

Big Bubble Wands make fabulous party favors. They were a huge hit at our bubble party. We filled up a baby pool with tons of bubble solution so everyone could make bubbles at the same time and minimize bubble solution spillage (does that happen in your house to?). Buy extra wands so adults can play to!

The Big Bubble Wand Company has graciously offered to give away a Family Bubble Kit:
  • 4 bubble wands (turtle, flower, fish, and heart)
  • 12'' dipping dish
  • the secret bubble recipe
